Which laptop? Toshiba vs HP

Hi. I’m trying to decide between two laptops – same price (£400 – my budget), similar specs. I’m upgrading from a three year old netbook so anything will be an improvement.
Toshiba Satellite C855 from John Lewis - Intel Pentium B960 processor (2.2GHz), Intel HD Graphics 4000 card, 6GB RAM, 640GB storage. Main advantages seem to be numeric keypad and John Lewis 2 year guarantee. Also better customer service from John Lewis.
HP G6-1336sa from Curry’s - AMD Quad-Core A6-3420M (1.5 GHz, with 2.4 GHz TurboBoost), AMD Radeon HD 6520G Discrete-Class graphics card, 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) RAM (not sure what the 2 x 4 means exactly), 750GB storage. Seems to have slightly better specs, but I’m a bit clueless about processors and graphics cards, so I’m not really sure.
Any thoughts on which to go for?
Thanks

I have bought 2 Toshibas from J Lewis and think the brand and retailer is the better choice. (Good spares etc from Toshiba), and a 2 year warranty from J Lewis.

Thanks - I would certainly feel more comfortable buying from John Lewis. I've heard bad things about Curry's customer service.

The HP has higher "capabilities", all round. If you have an interest in game playing, photo editing (particularly video), or are a "multi-tasker", it may be the better selection.
On the other hand, both Toshiba and John Lewis are fairly universally well regarded for quality and service. Both HP and Currys don't tend to have the same "approval rating". Having said that, of course, any individual laptop can be perfect, or faulty, but I know which I'd rather have, if it did develope a fault.

I would say that your best all around option is to buy HP G6-1336sa. For me that is a better choice.
