Im looking for an external portable blu ray writer for my Samsung Series 9.

Is the Samsung SE-506AB OK? Or is something better going to come out shortly?

Should I wait? or purchase this product...

Is something better coming out? Yes it always is, technology does not stand still. Will it be shortly? Only Samsung can tell you that. If you need it now then buy it and get the use out of it. If you don't need it now then wait until you do and then keep looking at reviews for external bluray writers and buy it then.
