Full hard-drive

I have an Acer computer (three years old) with two hard drives, C and D, each 458 GB. I am now being warned that D is nearly full, with only a few MB left, while C has 367 GB left. D seems to have back-up files on it. What should I do?
Many thanks for your help,
Jonny Griffiths

Are the back ups ones you have done ? Are they full backups and if so of what ? How far back do they go ? It is possible that you can delete some of them and just keep the latest ones. Let us know what they are.

You could move some of your own files from D drive to C drive to free up space on D and then save future files to C drive to spread the load.

Yes, thank you, iscanut, I have managed to delete some old back-ups, and that has freed up space. I am backed up online in any case. Thank you too, mgmcc. Job done, I think.
