Is 40GB good/bad for video calling a few downloads and facebook and msn? Thanks

It depends on the video quality.
HD video can use up to 5GB per hour,Standard DVD abou 2 GB per hour. Facebook and emails etc use hardly any,internet gaming can use quite a lot depending on the game in use.

40GB per month is likely to be totally over the top at the present.
However, if you envisage watching old TV Programs on say, iPlayer, at some time in the future, the larger Download Limit will, very likely, prove useful.
