DELL - 1011, Problems with starting up the machine

Hi All,

I hope you can help. My daughter has a Dell 1011 and cannot start up the machine. She gets a message asking if she wants to start up windows but nothing happens. I have tried the F2 function to restore to factory settings but this is doing nothing.

Any ideas on how to solve this would be most appreciated.

Try Safe Mode ~ F5 or F8.

Should have said: ~ Click F8 (or F5) continuously, as you switch the Computer on until the Black screen loads. It may take a while and may appear to hang, with lots of white text on a Black Ground (The Drivers it's loading) ~ hang in there. Your Mouse will not work, you'll have to use the Up & Down keys to Navigate.
