Hi,
Well my 12 year old son has been promised a laptop for his birthday but I've no clue what to get him.
He would be using it mainly for homework, internet and playing games off the internet (not a heavy gamer but uses alot of free game websites.
My budget well ideally upto £350 but am flexible, could anyone please point me in the right direction or give me some clues as to what i should be looking for.
Thanks from a very confused mum

I took a look at this website and then checked around for prices of the recommended Toshiba. Could not unfortunately find anywhere that had it in stock but found the latest model at Tesco Click Here. The top listed model on that page is a 17" screen and may be a bit heavy for a 12 year old to carry around. The maximun size I would go for is 15.6" and I would suggest that you get one with a DVD Player/Writer built in. Get a well padded carry bag either back pack or with a good strap, it will get knocked around at school.

Personally Ive had bad experience with an Acer. Macs will be above your budget. Toshiba SatelliteĀ® L635 Laptop sounds like a good one. http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/satellite/L635-for-kids/ gives u more info on that. maybe you ll find cheaper ones? other than that id recommend thinking of a list on what the computer needs to have and getting help at a ig electronic market. (you can still buy the recommended computer much cheaper online, later)
