problem on start up

Hi, I have just had to reinstall my sons laptop with the recovery disc provided,It took hours... but i think all went well except when it's first turned on it goes to the black screen-windows boot manager and you have to click on microsoft windows vista to get onto the log in page. can you help me put this right please. Also pages do seem a bit slower loading now, have i done something wrong. it's a samsung R60 plus with windows vista home premium.

Please explain in simply instructions as i'm no expert but am trying hard to learn.

Probably the easiest way is to run EasyBCD
