Difference between a notebook & a laptop

Hello

Please excuse my ignorance.

Our daughter needs a laptop for her school work.

I saw a Dell Latitude D630 which was listed for about £170.00.

But I see it is listed as a notepad.

Will a notepad do all that a normal laptop would?
