Does an Applemac MD387 B/A need a seperate Optical Drive

I am condsidering purchasing an Applemac min MD387 B/A to use for video editing, word processing and spreadsheet work. If I want to save a film I have edited/produced to a DVD disc, do I need to purchase a seperate optical drive to save it to, or could I save it to the one on my old computer. The information given out in regard to this computer talks about what it can do but does not cover what it can't do. I would be grateful for any information.

It does not have an Optical Disc Drive
