I'm looking for a cheap(ish) android tablet to buy my daughter for xmas, but as a complete tablet novice and after lots of research i still have'nt got a clue what to get. I would prefere a larger than 7in screen, and it would need to be compatable with flashplayer and android market/ play store. She would mainly be using it to go on the internet, playing games like binweavils and moshi monsters ect... and maybe movies.

I have also come across a lot of non top brands and makes i have never even heard of on amazon/ebay. Would these be just as good?

Which has a good survey of loads and the only don't buy is Hannspree Hannspad.Top brands, in no order, are Apple, Samsung and Asus. I have long been a Sony fan, but I have recently bought the Samsung Note 10.1 with the pen. At £399 it is not cheap. I am impressed with it and have not had the chance to really investigate it's potential yet, it may even replace my laptop one day. Depending on the age of your child it has a Kids learning section of loads of things, not just how to use the tablet. The pen is handy and not just a gadget. The Samsung Tablet is cheaper but has no pen and is not so powerful. Best thing is to pop into town and play with one. In Cardiff at least Samsung have a demo stand and it's very helpful, especially as they are not selling.

By not selling I meant no sales pressure as it is pure demonstration.
