Fed Ex spoof

Resolved

I had an email today from Fed Ex telling me that a package I sent a few weeks ago had failed to have been delivered due to an incomplete address. I was asked to click on a link to obtain and complete a new address label. As I have never used Fed Ex or sent anything, I smelt a rat and did not open it and deleted the email. Has anyone else had such an email and was I right to be suspicious ?

If you've never used Fed Ex how could they possibly know your e-mail address?

Of course it;'s a scam/

Was the email actually addressed to you, or was it a very similar (spoof) email address?.

This type of phishing e-mail has been around for some time. They are trying to confirm your e-mail address or worse introduce a virus through clicking on the link.

Delete without opening.
