wireless printers - any disadvantages?

Are there any disadvantages to buying a wireless printer? I favour Canon, and am undecided between the Canon Pixma 4950 and the Canon Pixma MG4150, both of which have scanners included.

My previous printer was a Pixma 4200.

xania I would be very interested to know if things have changed in the past two years Click Here. Although I occasionally use IE9 64 bit I have not been able to set it as my default.

Nothing to do with defaults. What happened was that this particular client reported that she could not access her printer wirelessly to print e-mails when using IE9 (nb NOT using MS Outlook). On checking her access, I saw that she was using a shortcut on her desktop which was in fact pointing to the 64-bit IE9. Change the pointer to the 32-bit version and this solved her problem immediately.

Many thanks, all. I have bought a Canon MG5250. Setting up for usb connection was easy, but i am having problems understnding the manual for wireless setup - see separate post!

some printers print slower wirelessly. But it is not typical. Also there may be some "delays" if a printer's hooked up to few printers.
