Anyone laptop engineers in London who could replace a power jack, willing to pay £50.

Looks like a 10min job with minimal strip. 50 quid would be far too much , I'd say. You could strip further so the whole harness is replaced, but a bit of soldering and some heat shrink tube did the job in this video

and 7 quid for a new one.
