5.1 Speakers for Laptop

Hi there,

I'm thinking about buying a pair of 5.1 speakers and a sound card to use with my laptop but I'm not sure on what to buy. A friend has a pair of Logitech X540 (connected to a desktop) and they are absolutely amazing, and the wired remote is a nice touch because you can adjust your sound from the remote, unlike other speakers which have the bass control at the back of the sub-woofer. But it seems they have been discontinued and replaced by Z506, which I have not tested. Also for the sound card I was thinking of Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 PRO. It looks nice, it's from a reputable company and has good reviews. So the Z506 + the sound card would be at around £130. Could I do better in that price range?

Regards
