Thanks both, that's really what I was hoping to hear. I know lasers aren't perfect for everything, but with the rarity of the printing I do, ppm, pure colour for photo's, cost per print etc, etc, really aren't an issue, I just want a respectable standard of print that ALWAYS happens at very infrequent periods without fuss. The cost per page could be as much as 20p or more, being as I only print about 60 or so pages a year, it hardley amounts to much and I'd hope that even the low capacity OEM drums will probably last me a year or two. I'll leave unresolved for a day or so for any other little gems of info. Thanks so far all

I could do that if it were only photos I print in colour, but when I do print documents etc, many of those are in colour so monochrome won't do I'm afraid, but thanks for the suggestion.

Just a quick update for anyone interested.

I finally plumped for a Konica Minolta Magicolor 1600W and got it for £92 all in. Had a slight glitch on initial start up, but once I sorted that out it is quite impressive, at least it is to me. So far so good, I'll try and remember to update in a few months time. I'm also planning to try and do my own toner refills, I'll update on that too when I get to it.
