Virgin Media To double Speed To Some

I 'think' it says that VM will double speed of those up to 50MegBits at no extra cost, & double allowances - if this is correct it's good news, if you are on 100MegBits you will get 120MegBits.

Now that 'BT Infinity' is offering Fibre To Cabinet, this competition which is always a good thing perhaps could have influenced this move by VM. From what I read recently BT Infinity also has large speed increases in the pipeline for 2012 also.

Sadly those out in the sticks are unlikely to benefit.

I got a letter yesterday from BT Infinity & they are doing a very good package on their fibre setup. I'm going to give Virgin a ring & see if they can improve my package as out of contract.

I don't really believe in customer loyalty anymore & it don't work in today's world as it did in the past so I'm quite willing to move to BT & use Sky again as I already have a dish etc. Rattling Virgins cage might be a good thing.

I checked my date, a week ago, and it said March. I view of recent posts, I was wondering if I only ASSUMED they meant THIS March, so I checked it again, this morning. It nows says JULY ONWARDS. Really helpful!. That's in only a week! On that basis, if I ask again in July, it will probably say something like the year 2050. Like I said before, I am not going to hold my breath.

Just had the Virgin magazine arrive, on my mat, with a picture of Usain Bolt, on the cover (he's fronting the rollout diary on their website). So I think "Good! I'll get some info on the upgrade". Not a bit of it. Doesn't even get a mention. In fact, the only speed information is to tell me the speed of light in miles per hour. I knew it in miles per second: I'm not sure what I gain by knowing it in mph.
