A friend who has a capped monthly useage wants to know if using Skype will eat into this. Can anyone tell me please?

Yes - it uses the internet so it will.

Thanks Wiz-King, I assumed it would but not using it I wasn't at all sure.

Although it uses it, it doesn't use a great amount. I use Skype quite heavily, around 2-4 hours most nights and often in 3 way calls, and having looked through my network logs I see that Skype tends to use 40-100MB on the days that I use it.

Provided his cap isn't particularly low, and he isn't usually approaching his limit already, chances are it'll be fine to use it.
