Have you bought the new Kindle?

The new, lighter, £89 Kindle book reader is now being delivered to customers, and I wondered if we have any early purchasers in the forum.

If you've taken the plunge, what are your initial reactions?

If the blurring does ever annoy you i've just found out you can revert to the old style full refresh mode by upgrading the firmware to 4.0.1

"The solution is simple, but not documented (or if it is, it is well hidden). If sending something in a form other than the Kindle format, the subject line of the e-mail must contain the "convert" and nothing else."

In fairness to Amazon, the process is clearly documented on page 112 of the user guide:-

"Tip: You can choose to convert PDF file(s) that are sent to your device by adding the word “convert” in the email subject line."

Yes my wife received hers for her birthday today. We had a bit of a problem getting setup for wireless, nothing to do with Kindle more the fact the router password had been changed when we were taken over bt TalkTalk. My wife downloaded a book to test but said it didn't appear on the home page untill she went on the computer, sorry, I can't make head or tail of what she did. So far the only drawback I can see is the position of the page buttons, they are just where you would hold it in your hand and she found she had turned a page without wanting to, something I am sure she will get used to. We shall se as time goes on.

Planning to get the £89 one very soon. One basic query: Do Kindles display photos if contained in the relevant book or diagrams--or nothing?

Some of the books I have read on my Kindle have shown a few photos.
