Hey guys,

Basically ive got about a £1000 budget to get a new laptop. Id quite like one that could handle games for the next 2 years or so.

Ive been looking at PC specialist as they seem to have good reviews and are obviously a cheaper option.

I have a desktop that is about 3 years old and can still handle current games pretty well (such as deus ex and witcher 2 played nicely at high settings)

Ill give you the specs to help out:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 8GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Ram 800mhz 500GB SATA II hard drive ASUS P5Q Pro motherboard Geforce GTX 295 graphics card

Ive been looking at a laptop which costs about £1000 specced like:

i7 2630QM (2.00GHz) 4GB Kingston 1600mhz DDR 3 RAM 1.5GB Geforce GTX 560m 250GB WB Scorpio black (16mb cache (7200rpm)

My main questions are:

is a laptop specced like this good enough to last the next 2 years? (in terms of gaming)

I dont mind stretching budget a bit to get something that will be more future proof so would an upgrade to the amd 6990m be worth it? (extra £200) Or are there any other components that you would reccomend upgrading instead?

Finally with my desktop in mind is it better to just get a cheaper laptop instead and upgrade parts of the desktop? bearing in mind i will get a completely new desktop in about 2 years

I guess really im still thinking my desktop should be my main gaming rig but id like a good laptop for when i travel.
