I've recently bought a Samsung SyncMaster P2450 which is 24" and was well within your budget, you'd get almost £30 change.
I am very happy with it and it is a revelation, when compared to my old (8 year) Phillips, but I have nothing to compare it with so I'm possibly biased.

I recently purchased the #5 in PCA top 5 monitors <£200. It's the 21.5" BenQ G2222HDL. I find it excellent for my needs. It has the full HD native resolution. It lacks the HDMI connector (DVI and VGA only), but that only becomes an issue if you need 5:1 or 7:1 surround sound.
Check out page 145 of the PCA August 2011 edition. I paid £100 for it via Amazon.

thank you all for your suggestions, since this posting I have been advised that I would be better with a monitor that as a ISP screen,(not sure what that is) anyway I have gone for the LG IPS231P-BN 23 inch Monitor.Once again thank you, much appreciated.
