PC reliability

I have had a pretty poor time with my Acer 8930G. When it works, it is fantastic and I only paid £700 for it. However, the power jack has now gone twice - yet is barely two years old!

From what I have read, Acer is poor for reliablity and has poor customer service.

What is the best brand for reliability?

Which brands only use Uk based call centres and deal with complaints well?

Hmm - difficult. You could look at the Which reports for reliability; call centres I'm not sure about, but when you buy something, the onus is on the seller for repairs/warranty etc - not the manufacturer.

I think these are always worth considering Click Here and are available at a couple of supermarkets, I`ve had one of their Desktops for nearly four trouble free years and have also got a decent Netbook from them.

I have read that they have good after sales service but have never had to call them, at the end of the day its your money youre spending.

Good luck with your eventual choice.
