I would like to add Windows 7 to my desktop, as there is usually new versions of hardware and software released as soon as I have ordered something I would like to know is there any new version of Windows in the offing?

There is, effectively, always a new versions of Windows in the offing.

No doubt as soon as Window 8 is released, possibly next year, Bill Gates and his boys and girls will be designing Windows 9 (or whatever snappy title they decide to give it).
