New speakers

Currently I have these speakers creative sbs230. They came with a old computer many years ago. I do enjoy the sound quality but sometimes it feels like the base is missing/not deep. So wondering if anyone could make a recomendation for about £30.

I play games like modernwarefare 1 and listen to music and programs online.

Well the 230s have arrived. Good sound quality. But the bass can be overpowering even on the minimum setting. So much so if I am listening to spotify.com late at night. I am plugging my old set in.

So basically only get the 230s if u dont have to worry about upsetting people with the bass. Also check the dimensions of the bass box as I didnt. Which was my own fault and its quite large.

If you have a graphics equaliser with your sound card/onboard then you can use it to tame the bass.

If no equaliser, you may be able to lower the bass only.

To do this in XP: Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Volume tab > Advanced > Play Control > Advanced. A screenshot click here.

I also find the bass on my 2.1 speakers a bit too much & have always reduced it. G
