I have an old work desktop computer that runs XP Prof, and a spanking new Laptop with Win 8.
I have muddled though setting up a network so that each computer when connected via ethernet to my AOL Speedtouch wifi router can share certain folders and a printer. All good so far.
Q1. if I disconnect or remove power do i have to re set up the network again?
My plan is to use my laptop remotely at another work location, which has no cabled internet connection.Or Wifi. I am planning to use my mobile/cell to tether my laptop to the internet via my mobile network. Mobile/Laptop config is tried and tested both on wifi and mobile nettwork and works.
Q2. can I access the network Desktop XP computer and folders and printer from remote location via mobile network?
It would make the work flow extremely smooth if i could?
Or is there a function in Sky cloud where i could work on docs and folders then have them update in the original or remote laptop automatically?
Open to simple solutions as I am spending along time on my own IT. PLease help. Thanks
