hi all. not sure what i need or what im doing so searching for a specific answer was a little difficult. sorry if this is obvious. perhaps point me in the right direction if it is.

i would like to connect my three pcs together so that they can all make use of the printers, scanners, internet etc in my office space. i also need to be able to access this lot from a remote laptop so that i can continue to work from home. i would like to store all my data in one place that was easily accessible from every PC and my laptop.

what hardware do i need to make this happen?

thanks

You do not say which OS your pc's are running but this article will lead you through the steps to set up a workgroup using pc's with different OS.

There is remote desktop available, for OS that are windows professional or over I believe - see this article.

An alternative is to use a website based application such as LogMeIn or GoToMyPC - see attached. You could also consider storing your files to a remote site such as Dropbox which means that your files are available to you worldwide.

I should also have mentioned Windows Sky Drive that gives you 7gb of free storage to access files from anywhere.
