What download speed am i getting? Which is right?

Speedtest.net always says i'm getting around 3 MB. Znet is always higher. Around 3.5MB TestMy.net gives me 5.4MB. On my Netgear router staus page it says my DownStream Connection Speed is 3776 kbps. Also, when i download a game on Steam, it often downloads at 600kbs or above. Which speed is more accurate? testmyspeed

I got fed up with various speed checkers giving widely differing results - even "speedtest.net" indicates faster speeds with distant servers than it does with near servers.

I now use JD's Auto Speed Tester which runs as a program in the PC and checks the speed at pre-set intervals.

They could all be correct. each speed tester may have servers in different locations and the routing from your exchange will vary each time you try any one of them. There is no common path to the tester sites.
