How do I enable laptop wireless

I have updated the OS on my daughter’s old HP Omnibook xe4100 laptop. To update the drivers via the Internet I used Netgear WG111 USB adapter.
I am not sure how to activate the laptops own wireless facility (if it has such a facility).
Yesterday, for some reason I was unable to post my question as above, on the mainstream site. I could only access it on My Posts.
Hope that I can now post the question on the main site. So far, I have checked the device manager for network adapters. There are no adapters listed. I have used the SlimDrivers to update all devices,
The laptop has no switches or keys with an antenna symbol. (HP Notebook does have such items, but not this Omnibook)
On my old desktop I use an Edimax wireless card. Is it possible to acquire a similar item for a laptop?

Advised from another source to buy a network adapter.
Thank you.

This little one works a treat if your laptop is not fitted with a wireless card.
