Have just installed the TP-LINK Home Plug to reach internet connection upstairs from hub down stairs. Can this be left on all the time or should we switch it off when not in use ? Is it ok to use on an extension socket ? Should it be used with a serge breaker or will this destroy it ? Thank you for advice.

Hi,
To answer one of your questions I believe that they should not be plugged into an extension lead.
