Hello If a standard RJ45 jack is wired the wrong way round can a computer still receive the signal? Given that the line has tested correctly right thru the patch panel using a patch lead. Specifically in wiring standard 568B if the wires were mirrored by mistake would this affect the signal going into the computers ethernet port

I suspect the connection would either perform as a "crossover" connection, as used to connect two computers directly, or not work at all. In either case, the computer would indicate "Network cable unplugged".
If it performed as a "crossover" connection, using a "crossover" cable from the panel to the computer would reverse the incorrect wiring again. If it doesn't work at all, the connection to the panel will have to be remade correctly.
