Media servers with PS3 to PC

I have just got a PS3 and want to use my PC as a Media Server for it. The PC is in a different room. I have hooked up a 2TB external hard disk to it. The PC and PS3 are visible on the same network. PS3 wirelessly, and the PC wired. Both use the internet ok. I want to play a film or music file from my PC, from my PS3, and onto my TV, but whenever I look for Media Servers on the PS3, they come up 'no media servers found'...
Any ideas please.. regards Chrissib

There are several Windows Based Media Servers, including Windows Media Player. However try Twonky
