Virgin modem/router

Resolved

Hi all, I'm new to this networking, but I have just been supplied with a Netgear VMDG 280 modem/router. I had a problem with VM last time I needed to register a replacement modem, so could I just use the router side of this new modem/router unit? P.

if it is an ADSL modem, no. you would need a cable modem.

Virgin would not supply an ADSL modem router (which they now do for their cable connection) unless you are on their old virgin.net connection which is ADSL
