Speed of moving files across the network and other issues

I really should know the answer to this but anyway...
I have an ASUS RT-N12 10/100 Wireless Router (Firmware 1.0.1.2
I have one PC hard-wired to it and 3-5 wireless devices hooked to it.
I transfer a lot of data between the various PCs I have hooked up. On the dafault set up, I was getting terrible transfer speeds (200k/sec). I did a little research and changed my encryption from WPA to WPA2 and also set the Router for Wireless-N only and changed the setting for up to 300mbps. This increased my transfer speed a lot (1.5-2.5mb/sec), but it still doesn't seem to be as fast as it should be.
Ideally I would like to be able to turn on the Wireless-G again as my Blackberry doesn't have Wireless-N (thx RIM), but the transfer speed is much more important.
The second issue I have is a strange one. Streaming any Youtube video takes ages. It is happening on all the PCs on the network and I know there is no issues when I am connected to another network with my laptop. This happens when there is only one PC switched on as well. Other surfing and download speeds are normal.
