Network sharing problem

I have recently purchased a laptop and I'm trying to connect it to my desktop via network sharing. Every time there is an error coming back saying "\\Computer name\Users is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permission. The specified network name is not longer available"
Now I have enabled the password from my desktop and still no result. I have also been sharing files from this Desktop to a blu-ray and a mac and it worked.
I must specify that the desktop uses Windows 7 Pro and the laptop Windows 7 Home Premium
Any advice?
Thanks
George
