Screen montioring via LAN (remote desktop)

I know this may not seem very ethical but...

My brother has a home network on which he, from his PC, can see files on his son's laptop. He would like to know if there is a way in which he would be able to connect remotely to the laptop in order to view the screen live but without his son knowing.

The PC is running Vista and the laptop is Windows 7.
