Maria Sharapova considers changing her name to Sugarpova for US Open

Story.

Although a lot of her fellow sportsmen and women were very much against this obvious cynical move to plug her range of sweets, nothing was heard from Andy Murray Mint or John Macaroon or David Ferrero Rocher.

I believe that Miss Sharapova has decided against the name change which is a pity as I am sure there are many sports people out there where a name change might make them some cash.

Would she eligible for the event as Maria Sharapova is a seeded player and Maria Sugarpova is an unlisted, unseeded tennis player?

Would Pat Cash become Pat loads of money?

The late Kenneth Kendall just missed out on the mint cake option.

Maria is currently the world's richest sportswoman.

I imagine she will become a little richer, now that the Sugarpova brand has had several million dollars worth of free publicity.
