Unsuitable, hideous and daft vehicles for the drivers needs.

Hi all, of course anyone can drive whatever they wish but here are a few examples of what I see in this area.

A woman beauty salon owner with a new Range Rover (Hideous thing about £80K) with big bars on the front who has to tailgate everyone.

A local builder that drives a pickup truck that looks like a giant wasp with ANIMAL written on the side in big letters.

Also plenty of elderly around with huge expensive people carriers, I have never seen one with more than 2 people in it including the driver. (no disrespect is meant to the elderly here)

A woman that goes to the local supermarket in a Hummer.

What are your experiences or are you one of these people in which case can you explain your reasoning plese.

I think it's you who has to do the explaining - what's the point of this thread?

People may drive whatever vehicle they like, can't they? There doesn't have to be any reasoning behind their personal choice.

Fair enough that people can drive any car they like but, that doesn't mean that other people are not allowed to think their choice of vehicle is silly.

A good explanation for this is that being higher they are easier to get in and out of, and also they have more room if its necessary to carry a wheelchair or mobility scooter in the boot.

BT has given a reasonable explanation, as there is no point in the thread then I will close it.

I asked a simple question, and I would have expected an explanation. You obviously felt there was a point to it, so why not tell me, instead of taking offence? If I upset you I apologise - it certainly wasn't my intention.

FE my point was to see other members points of view regarding what I consider inappropriate vehicles. Chris Ewbank for example thought a tractor unit for an articulated lorry would be appropriate for his personal transport. I could use a double decker bus to pick up my local paper if I wished to but I would expect someone to ask me for an explanation.

My wife drives a totally unsuitable car which is a 3 year old Ford Ka. She considers that a new sexy convertible costing between £20 and £30K would be much more suitable but it isn't going to happen!

True, and you can do the same about my choice of hat, trousers, newspaper, friends and even wife.

That doesn't mean to say that your views are in the slightest way relevant or even interesting.

I got a pleasant shock when I found out that the great traditional Scots singer Kenneth McKeller went gigging 'to and fro' on a powerful motor bike ... sometimes with his kilt on!
