Who panic buys all the bread and milk...

when it snows? I don't eat any more nor less if it snows.

Luckily my trade is a baker, so I've bought a bag of flour instead and will while away the snowy day with hot fresh bread as a reward:)

Who says it is 'panic buying?'

The linked article says the Met Office has issued a red warning. That means 'take action'.

Taking action, I assume, means making sure you don't need to go out during the expected disruption. Granted some people will buy enough to make sure they don't run short even if it snows to Christmas but it only takes every shopper to buy two instead of one of something for it to run out.

In 2010, all our local supermarkets ran out because the delivery trucks couldn't get through not because people bought extra.

If the Met Office says 'take action' it should be no surprise when people do.
