Macscouse I think the Maltese bought old buses from Cuba and kept them going by using bits of string and wires, which also had the added use of hanging religious symbols from. They certainly ran them in to the deck afterwards, so it was only the grace of God which kept them going.

Those vehicles are new at the time, late '40s early '50s and too many for war ravaged Malta I reckon.
