Is it possible to add a, say, 5 minute period where the poster could edit (correct spelling errors etc.) his OWN post only instead of making a second post pointing out the error?

Well it's the first time I have seen that poem and it made me chuckle.

An edit button might be useful, but I think a 'first unread post' button might be useful especially in the longer threads.

If you set your browser options so that you do not allow pages to use their own colours, and set "Visited Links" to, say, red, then the first unread page, though not post, will show in blue, or whatever your original colour was.

Not perfect but good on a muti-page thread!

And a direct link to the last page of a thread on the mobile site would be a huge advantage.
