We what to know what you think is the most reliable laptop company out there?

I think you're probably right QuickBeam. We're not pretending this is in-depth scientific research, just trying to get a feel of what people are experiencing. It's possible we may delve deeper with a proper survey at some stage. My personal feeling is that all the major brands are as reliable as can be expected given the complex nature of computers.

Most laptops come from about three or four Manufactures, in Far East Just Rebadged, Mitac being one of them, so Badge does not mean nothing much. Most use same components other than Motherboard. So its a bit hit and mis

For the record, I have a 17" PB and a Samsung netbook. I'd buy either make again as they're 5 and 4 years old respectively and are still doing their job as intended.

...and I have to say I'm still in quite a dilemma over which 10"ish touch pad that I'm in the market for. I'm impressed with the Samsung build quality, but can't decide between Android or W8 RT OS. iApple isn't in the running for me.

had a sony over 6 years good build reliable, but support poor, spare parts expensive.
got a samsung 18months good support, still working well.
i would go for samsung again.

Unfortunately many people will not see it that way.
PCA, and IDG, are too influential in the field to be indulging in such whims.
Anyone Googling "Reliable laptops"is going to get Apple or Dell, with Acer, Asus, Tosh and Samsung hardly getting a look in.
