New Years Honours List

There seems to be a bit of criticism over the Olympics/Paralympics honours that have been handed out. enter link description here I can see that there is some validity in the criticism from some of the Paralympians as it does appear that they have to achieve more before being recognised. At the same time I also feel that there are so many different classes in the Paralympics that some of them have comparatively little competition for their medals and that able bodied face much more competition to achieve their medals. I have a lot of sympathy for the Paralympians as probably, in a lot of cases, there is not much chance to earn a good living from sport and an honour is going to be their greatest achievement. I've got very mixed feelings about the whole Honours system anyway so perhaps I may not be the best person to have a go about it.

I don't think any athletes should get on the honours list, doesn't seem quite right to me, they've already got their Olympic medals that they competed for. "People should only be honoured for the time and effort they voluntarily return to their community" was one of the comments, I agree with that.

They are devisive nonsense that belongs to a bygone era.
It is very unseemly how some are now arguing over them.

How come I missed out again?
More to the point. What have they got against Ken Dodd. I think he's done more to keep up morale in this country over the years than most people.
I knew him personally years ago, and while I don't particularly like the man as he's a bit of a tight wad. But his work is outstanding and always has been.

Bing.alau, it's the full stop in your name. You should have used a hyphen, for that upper-class look.

Yes that was the correct link and I could have sworn it was the one I posted. Mind you I still can't Green Tick as the site doesn't seem to allow me to, although it did before I had log-in problems a few months ago.
