Brumas certainly helped with narrowing down the area.
It is sometimes hard to recognise modern photos with the old ones but once you get the correct area it makes it a lot easier.
I see you have been down and around Bute just wondered if you were there when the Navy ships and submarines were docked just outside Rothesay.
Not sure why but cannot get any photos of them from the Internet.

Knew it as soon as I saw it.
Can quite make out if that is the old ram, tribute to the wool trade, on the plinth, perhaps he came later.
