Is it not better to put in in the recycling bin, Thereby reducing the levy your council has to pay on landfill (the levy is worked out as a ratio of landfill to recycling) and ultimately benefiting you, either by more money for services or reduced council tax?

The only people who have a legitimate right to complain about his new policy are the postmen, who's bags will be getting heavier.

For householders, simply pop the junk in your recycling bin and be thankful that the junk mail is doing two things, preventing yet more stamp price rises, and keeping the Royal Mail afloat.

You can bet your bottom dollar that if the Royal Mail is privatised anyone living more than 1 mile from the delivery office will have to collect their own mail, or pay a fee to have it delivered.
