Another Chief Exec Who Doesn't Know What's Happening

G4S boss Nick Buckles only realised a few days ago that a £280 million contact to supply security services for the Olympics was going belly up.

Understandable I suppose. He must be dealing with contracts of this size everyday of the week and the odd one or two are bound to slip through the net.

Not really, because there are no details.

It could be that they set aside 5,000 or 10,000 or even 100,000 spaces for wheelchairs, but they are all full.

If accommodation is full it is full, whether standing, seating, disabled or corporate box.

When someone comes out and says to us "I'm really sorry, but we already have three (or whatever) wheelchairs inside and it really isn't possible to take another one" we accept that, and try some other time.

Premises have to make "reasonable provision" for the disabled, not fit them all in at any cost.

Until we know how many wheelchair users will be at the closing ceremony we can't really say whether the provision is "reasonable" or not.
