Mandela, McGuinness and Mugabe, what do they all have in common? All, at one point in their lives, terrorists!
The first is now a saint! The second, like St Paul has had an epiphany, and the last is still a devil!
It's a funny old world!

Rick'scafe "wonder who is responsible for the most deaths?"
McGuiness or HRH??
Would probably have to be HRH as she was our head of State during a quite few skirmishes where our forces caused many deaths!!

That spinning sound you hear is Lord Louis in his grave.

But we can't move on without this huge gesture of magnanimity.

Maybe it is the catalyst for better relations with Ireland as a whole. I think it is the right thing to do myself. We cannot live in the past. The world would be a better place if all the tribes could get together and shake hands.
In reality it will never happen whilst people worship different Gods. I think the North American Indians had the right idea in worshipping a wooden Totem Pole. They probably got as much sense out of one of those, than could be got from all the religious leaders in the World.

"The times, they are a changin'"
There might appear to be for some, but certainly not for others. Shaking hands or being in the same room, doesn't mean you are friends or carry the goodwill of others.

HRH,because of her position, has shook hands or associated with many a devil,so this will not phase her no matter how disgusted she may feel.
Like Arafat and Peres and Shimon who all recieved the Nobel prize, former terrorists recieving a prize created in name from the man who invented dynamite, the worm always turns.
