No 49 Bus Comes Yet Again

Another day another U turn. Maybe some hope for my "Granny Tax" being the next bus to come along.

To coin a phrase used so often by politicians these days "not fit for purpose" seems to sum the Chancellor up or indeed one used by many of our teachers at school year ago "switch on brain before opening mouth"

Isn't the point behind the charity u-turn the fact that the charities rose up en masse, and pointed out that the very rich people who traditionally make such generous donations might no longer have done so - at least in such measure - if the tax relief was to be capped?

It seems incredible to me that nobody researched these budget items before announcing them in parliament.

What has happened to planning and forethought? Are our government ministers really as stupid as they seem, or do they just blindly accept what their staff tell them?

And then they bleat when they are shown no respect by the general public and seem surprised when election turnouts are low.

Absolutely staggering.
