A few years ago this forum would have a bit of a ding dong going about the latest budget. So far today Nothing. So I will put my halfpenny worth in. Is it right that us poor pensioners are punished? After all, most of us are the ones who kept this country going through the bad times and some of us even through the last war. (anticipating Brumas, I wasn't in the Boer war or the first World war).

What annoys me is that young 14 and 15 year old girls can still purposely have a child so that they can live off the state for free. Surely something could and should be done to stop this shameful practice.

I get out plenty - I was in Holland & Germany this week & live just south of Sheffield. I fear it is you is lumping huge swathes of the population together based on it seems hearsay as you admit - 'I do not mix with teenagers'

Well I mix & know plenty of younger people though I am no longer young. But what this has to do with the budget eludes me totally.

I also know very well a person & people who deal with situations that you mention in your opening post & you could not be more wrong if you think this minority walk into a home by getting pregnant you are quite wrong - They do not, even in deprived areas.

Input Overload. It has nothing to do with hearsay. I have met these teenagers, I know these teenagers. I have met their parents. I know their parents. Another thing that annoys me is that their parents condone it. Some of their parents did the exact same thing. If you live just south of Sheffield I suggest you venture north a trifle and investigate further. Or even further south, because it is not just a northern problem.

What it has to do with the budget is that it is costing you and I an awful lot of money. It is not only the teenage mums who are costing us an arm and a leg, but all the other spongers. What really annoys me is that they honestly believe they are entitled to live for free.

I was brought up to believe that I should contribute 100% to keeping myself and my dependants.
