6 Nations 2012

It's that time again, and it's also a year that I wouldn't put any money on anyone as the obvious contender, not even the early Calcutta Cup game. I think it's as wide open as it's ever been this year.

Honorably falling on a sword... That's something politicians must to remember to do:)

Honourable's OK with me, non of us like to willingly accept that our day has come and gone.

If anyone thinks he shouldn't have played, the responsibility lies with the team management for not making a positive decision as to his ability.

England now have to take care not to think that they're world class now. They only had an easy gifted win. The real contenders have yet to be played against.

Of course...and most knowledgeable rugby supporters wouldn't expect a new internationally-inexperienced England to win many of their 6N games. Italy, hopefully, Ireland, maybe, but France and Wales...doubt it.

All that a lot of us are looking for is a sign that, at long last, we have a team who seem proud to wear an England shirt and can learn to play at top international level. It won't come in the next few weeks but, if it does by the time that the next World Cup comes round, I for one will accept the inevitable defeats that will come along the way.

Like they did in cricket!

Never start to believe your own publicity.

It's not often that I would hope for Wales to win, but with the other real option being the Frogs...

It's amazing what a win does for confidence and perhaps England will win more than expected after theirs. Bring on the Taffs, Micks and the Frogs.

It could be the Eyeties that screw them...

I know it's light hearted but some of the terms are becoming a bit pejorative.

Just as well there is no team from Nigeria or Cameroon, who knows what we might be seeing.

Bloody useless French! It was predicted 3 days ago that the pitch would freeze, why didnt they do the sensible thing rather than fill the stadium then call it?
