There was a thread about this in 2010 (now locked) but the new steel coins are apparently being introduced this month. Stand by for snags and pockets full of coins that will not work New Coins

I have just read in our weekly free Newspaper this evening that Shrewsbury Council does not have the money to change these machines so the poor motorist who is paying huge sums to park will now have problems even paying at all. It seems that although they received nearly 2 years notice of the changes they didn't do anything about it. Looks like a chance for some budding Sir Virgins to start their careers off as I believe he started in business offering change to people for machines, at a charge off course.
