Armchair Very few are of plain chocolate, and those that ate are at the lower percentage of cocoa solids content. Only adults would want them and Easter eggs are very much a kids treat.

I bought a three egg selection about 4 years ago for my nieces and nephews then aged 5-8, a milk chocolate egg (20%), a white chocolate egg (0%) and a plain chocolate egg (40%), all of them left their plain ones uneaten after one bite. So a kid will never swallow a 90% cocoa one, even I wouldn't, that's for cooking with in my house!

Armchair Hotel Chocolat sell high percentage dark chocolate. I don't think that their Easter Eggs are on sale yet. It may be worth enquiring what their percentage is.

I have to disagree about Easter Eggs being just a kids treat.

I seem to remember a saying "Resistance to chocolate is futile".

Only a New Year resolution to cutting back on chocolate prevented me from buying a sneaky mini cream egg at ASDA today. I am trying hard to make various chocolate Christmas stocking fillers last, but they are dissapearing a bit quicker than my resolution would suggest. Maybe there is a ghostly chocolate purloiner in the house...So far no Easter eggs at ASDA.

Quickbeam and Woolwell, thanks for responding to my query. I will have a look in Hotel Chocolat the next time I'm at the Gateshead Metrocentre, but I find their prices a bit over-inflated. Such an egg would make a nice change from the bars I habitually buy.

I did receive a box of Black Magic chocolates for Christmas (which was amazing, because I no longer buy presents for anyone), but they're 60.1% sugar, and I'm not going to eat them. The stuff I normally buy is only 7% sugar.

As for supermarkets stocking Easter eggs already........ It brightens the shop up a bit, and doesn't do any harm, so good for them.

Quickeam and Bingalau I did like Swiss chocolate but prefer UK over it. My Mrs would keep the Sultan of Brunei skint.

Hotel Chocolat:- The last time i bought anything from them, it was so stale that it was almost uneatable.

Unfortunately, I was, by then, 40 miles away.

wee eddie - I think that you were unlucky. I've never had a problem with them.
